We always get questions about how to prepare seamoss gel, and many people think that it is compulsory to use a blender, in this post we will look at the boiling method. Keep in mind when you use the boiling the method, the gel will eventually get into a firm consistency
BOILING METHOD:
- First up, rinse your seamoss to get rid of any excess salt
- Next soak your seamos in water overnight (or 12 hours will do.)
- When the seamoss is softened from rehydrating over night, add your seamoss to a pot with just water enough water to cover it.
- Boil on a low heat until the Sea Moss is a smooth gel-like consistency this should take about 15 or so minutes
- At this point you may add flavours or leave it as is then pour the gel into a sealable glass jar to cool
- Once cooled store in the fridge and use it within 2-3 weeks.
